MEDICARE

SUPPLEMENTS

(MEDIGAP)

MEDICARE DOESN'T PAY FOR EVERYTHING.

You may need more insurance protection to help pay these out of pocket medical costs.

Consider a Medicare supplement insurance plan to complete your coverage.  Medicare supplements help pay for eligible expenses not covered by Medicare.

In Good Hands

A Medicare Supplement Insurance (MediGap) policy, sold by private companies, can help pay some of the health care costs that Original Medicare doesn't cover, like copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.

Medicare will pay its share of the Medicare-approved amount for covered health care costs.  Then your MediGap policy will pay its share.

Freedom to choose your doctors and hospitals.  You can choose any doctor and any hospital that accepts Medicare.  There are no provider networks or referrals required.

A MediGap policy is different from a Medicare Advantage Plan.  MA plans are ways to get Medicare benefits, while a MediGap policy only supplements your Original Medicare benefits.  In other words, with a MediGap policy, Medicare is the primary insurance while the supplement backs it up.  MA plans differ in that the MA plan is primary over Medicare.
